Kingdom: Plantae
Phylum: Tracheophyta
Class: Lycopodiopsida (Club Mosses & Allies)

Lycopodiopsida is a class of herbaceous vascular plants known as the club mosses. Club mosses differ from other vascular seedless plants in that they have very small leaves with only a single vein, called microphylls, whereas most other plants have leaves with more than one vein, called megaphylls. They have dichotomously branching (branching in two equally growing points) stems with simple leaves, no ligules, and reproduce using spores borne in sporangia at the bases of the leaves.
