About Photo Licenses

My photos may be licensed for use in a wide range of publication types including books, magazines, brochures, information panels, posters, scientific papers, and web sites for either informational or advertising use. Purchasing a license, for commercial or personal use, enables you to use the photo(s) you selected for the specific purpose you requested. The license fees are reasonable and are dependent on your intended use of the photo(s).

Standard (non-exclusive) licenses are available for commercial or personal use. This type of license is ideal for most purposes. It enables you to use the licensed photo(s) for your purpose concurrently with other license holders of the same photo(s).

Exclusive licenses for commercial use may also be available. This type of license enables you to have exclusive use of the photo(s) for a specified, limited, period of time, after which your license expires. The photo(s) cannot be licensed for concurrent use by anyone else while an exclusive license is in effect. The photographer may have previously made, and may continue to make, sales of fine art prints of the photo(s).

Applying for Photo Licenses

When applying for a license, please include the following information:

• Title and Image Number for each photo,
• License type required (Exclusive/Non-exclusive),
• Use type (Commercial/Personal),
• Type and name of publication,
• Print run,
• Distribution (Regional, National, or International),
• End users name,
• End users industry (Conservation, Tourism, etc.).

Photos for print publication are usually supplied as high quality JPEG or TIFF files. Photos for web site use are supplied in lower resolution, limited to a maximum of 1000px on the longest side. Photos can be supplied by email, subject to file size, or on CD/DVD disc(s). If you have other preferences, please let me know.

To order licenses simply contact me with the appropriate details. You will receive a reply by email confirming the purchase price, license details, and full details on how to make your payment. We welcome payments by Internet banking (direct credit) or International money transfer.
